The generation ii stereo simulator from studio technologies creates a convincing stereo imagefrom a mono audio source. The fully mono-compatible signal simulates space withoutreverberation by using random, non-recursive filter techniques. The mode switch (found on the hardware unit) controls the overall sound of the generation ii. In the music position, the full audio bandwidth of the input signal is simulated. This mode isappropriate for audio material with little or no voice-only content. In the music & voice position, the input signal is sent through a band-reject filter prior togetting sent to the simulator circuits. This creates stereo simulation over the low and highfrequency range, while limiting simulation in the voice band. This mode is appropriate for audiomaterial that contains voice-only content, such as a film track or television show. The stereo intensity control determines the amount of stereo simulation that is produced. Inthe fully counterclockwise position (ir files “0” – included for process comparison), no simulatedstereo is produced. The mono input signal is sent equally to the left and right outputs. As thecontrol is turned clockwise (ir files “1 – 6”), the amount of stereo simulation increases.

And the device being too tiny to produce the sound signal, it was difficult to record the full length and frequencies. There could be other better sounds from a professional recorder. It just gives an idea of how it hears.

I wanted to make a sound effect for a game i'm developing, and so i recorded a 100-mm artillery cannon at camp williams (utah national guard), then modified the sounds using audacity. The recording was done on an olympus digital recorder in the mid-2000s (first decade). It sounded a little to me like the tribute cannon from hunger games (the sound effect that signals the deaths of the tributes), thus the name.

The belgian railroad company infrabel replaced all the mechanical bells at railroad crossings with a pulsating digital sound that they claim to be more efficient and safe then the previous analog bell sound. Infrabel made this recording available online as part of a media campaign about the replacement.

This sample was created by taping a razor blade to a contact microphone and allowing the blade to scrape against the edge of a record spinning on a turntable. The reverb was added in real time, so there's not a dry signal recording. Very reminiscent of tg's "hamburger lady" in some ways. Sounds like a human voice almost.

Here's a low volume, low frequency noise recorded during an acoustic survey of a condominium to identify a sleep-disturbing noise. It is primarily a combination of 13, 18 and 23 hz (5 hz steps). This is the recording of an audible pedestrians traffic light in paris, france. These devices are here to help visually impaired people cross the streets in a safe way. They come under the form of a little beige box with a hidden button underneath. You have to push the button to hear the annoucement. You can find them all over the city. The sequence goes as follows: first, an annoucement in french says "red light for pedestrians", followed by the street name, then a jingle goes on, followed by a series of bell-like sounds, signaling a green light. Diy gate connector techno. My home made gate connector is fun to use for more then modular gate signals. Here we have a beat-ish in stereo. I use the gate connector as a poor mans stereo mixer. The sound is straight out from the modular.

This is static actually coming from my radio but its plugged into the same cord as my tv & they are very close together. So it's actually interference. Also the proximity of my phone gives more sound (ringy static). There are many ways to "listen" to a computer. The high frequencies are miles from what a human can hear, so you must divide and mix until you hear the computer "speaking". This one: simply placed the am mf coil close to a data cable to a pci slot. The sharp noise is not noise, but clock signals which are divided x times the rattling is caused by every move with the mouse.

Think maybe a sabbath type of riff, low gain distortion but enough of an edge to call it thick/heavy. Probably better split into a smaller segment. Number 95 – flange harmonics g to d – harmonic noise which you could probably use smaller pieces of to signal an alarm/warning type of sound.
